Ba Htoo Army (BHA) PDF group has released a confession that it was correct to arrest three teachers, including the vice chancellor of Dawei University of Technology.
The (BHA) PDF was formed in January 2023 as the Ba Htoo Column, and in January 2024, it became known as the Ba Htoo Army. The teachers were taken hostage, and before the arrest, they also attacked the military guard post and the Phayarmel checkpoint, killing five soldiers. He also said that he was able to loot two MA-3 guns and ammunition, including six boxes of ammunition.
Kalay University, where the Chin PDFs were arrested, before more than 140 teachers and students could not be rescued, but it happened while the PDFs were arresting the teachers and students again at Dawei University of Technology. The BHA also said that Deputy Rector Dr. Kyaw Aung, Professor Daw Su Su Lat (Head of the Department of English) and Professor Daw Nanda Lwin (Head of the Department of Civil Engineering) were arrested because they were non-CDM who were promoting the education of military government.
At the end of 2023, Kayah PDFs raided Loikaw University and attacked the rector and teachers. Due to the arrest and killing of more than 300 staff and students, Loikaw University has been closed until today. More than 140 teachers were arrested and education was stopped again in Kalay University, and Dawei University of Technology is now in a situation where education has to be suspended because of Dawei PDFs.
