The Central Bank of Myanmar has announced that the Central Bank of Myanmar has sold 10 million US Dollars to the country’s currency market, and sold almost 140 million US Dollars in two months, even though the dollar price is over 3,600 kyats.
The US dollar price fell back to Kyat 3,500 per US dollar at the beginning of February due to the continuous selling of US dollars to the market. Still, it rose again to more than Kyat 3,500 in the second week of February. The central bank issued and sold US dollars again, but on February 22, it started to reach 3,600 per US dollar and has continued until today up to 3,640 kyat per US dollar.
