It has been announced that 1.298 tons of methamphetamine worth 45.43 billion kyats was seized by the Tatmadaw (Navy) at the sea about 193 miles northwest of Kawthaung city, Tanintharyi Region.
According to the news, on February 17th at 9:00 p.m, the Tatmadaw (Navy) searched the boat (Min Thant-3) about 193 miles northwest of Kawthaung city, Tanintharyi Region. Kyaw Lin Tun (aka) Kyaw Kyi, Hla Myint Tun and Ye Kyaw Thu (aka) Ko Ye were arrested with 1.298 tons of methamphetamine with a local value of 45.43 billion kyat.
According to the investigation, it was found that the seized methamphetamine was transported from Shan State to Yangon Region and transported by sea through the Yangon River estuary to Malaysia’s territorial sea.
