Although there was a decrease in trade due to the fighting at the Muse border trading station, due to changes in exports from other channels, in the 10 months of the current fiscal year, the Myanmar-China border trade volume was about 430 million dollars more than the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce.
In the 10 months from April 1 to February 9 of the 2023-2024 fiscal year, the export value of the Myanmar-China border trade was only $1.857 billion. It was a decrease of $227.928 million from the previous year, but the import value was $1.065 billion, which was $428.212 million more than the previous year.
Last October 2023, due to the conflicts, trade operations at the Myanmar-China Muse border trading post were difficult, but since mid-November, imports were carried out from Chin Shwe Haw, Kan Paik Ti and Keng Tung border trade. The cost of transporting the main rice and broken rice is very high. So, it is not exported, but other agricultural products such as cucumber, corn, beans and aquatic products are being exported.
