Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and deputy party secretary governor of Yunnan Province of China H.E Mr Wang Yubo discussed peace negotiations to maintain stability in Myanmar and border areas and mediation of China in the peace processes.
Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by the deputy party secretary governor of Yunnan Province of China H.E Mr Wang Yubo, that paid a courtesy call at the Credentials Hall of the Office of the SAC in Nay Pyi Taw on 20 February morning.
The Senior General and the delegation frankly exchanged views on friendship visits by national-level officials of the two countries, future friendship visits of national-level officials to promote cooperation and friendship, and the need to promote political trust building and economic ties between the two governments.
Moreover, they discussed possibilities to restore and promote border trade and commodity flow with Yunnan Province, which shares longest border with Myanmar, peace negotiations to maintain stability in Myanmar and border areas and mediation of China in the peace processes, the need to take effective comprehensive measures for cross-border law enforcement and stability, cooperation between the two countries for eradication of online gambling and online scams in border areas and further cooperation, the need to cooperate between the two countries for the combat against narcotic drugs, technical assistance for development of agriculture and livestock breeding in Myanmar by Yunnan Province, facilitation of border trade thanks to direct payments of kyat and Chinese Yuan, tasks being carried out for construction of railroads that are essential for trade and road transport between the two countries and promotion of cooperation between the two countries in various sectors including the electricity generation, energy, agriculture and horticulture sectors.
Also present together with the Senior General were Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo of the SAC, Deputy Prime Minister Foreign Minister U Than Swe, Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn and officials and the Chinese delegation was accompanied by Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr Chen Hai and officials.
