The Myanmar Passport Issuing Board has issued a notification that the Myanmar Passport Issuing Board will take action against brokers who spread rumors and ask for exorbitant amounts of money for the passport process, even though Myanmar passports are being verified and issued at the Yangon office as well as other branch offices according to normal procedures.
The Myanmar Passport Issuing Board verifies and issues passports according to the regular process, so online booking is done at the Passport Issuing Office (Rangoon) by the QR system at the rate of 2,700 people. The passport issuing offices in Nay Pyi Taw, Myitkyina, Hakha, Loikaw, Magway, Mandalay, Monywa, Taunggyi, Keng Tung, Lashio, Tachileik, Hpa-An, Myawaddy, Mawlamyine, Dawei, Kawthaung, Pathein, Sittwe and Bago cities are receiving daily services according to the specified population and on the office’s opening days.
At present, there is more concern among the public about passports than before, and because of these conditions, brokers are asking for more than 1,000,000 kyats to obtain passports.
