Warships from the region, including two warships from the Myanmar Navy, arrived in the port city of Visakhapatnam on Sunday for the MILAN2024 Multilateral Naval Exercise 2024 to be held in India, according to the Indian Navy’s website. The 12th MILAN Multilateral Naval Exercise will be held in Visakhapatnam from February 19 to 27, and naval forces from more than 50 countries will participate in the event, including ships from 20 countries.

The Indian Navy said that the Myanmar Navy’s Sin Phyu Shin and Kyan Sittha frigates arrived in Visakhapatnam on February 18. In addition, an Anzac-class frigate from the Royal Australian Navy also arrived on the same day, according to a statement from the Eastern Regional Naval Command, Time of India reported. Also, earlier that day, a warship from the Vietnam People’s Navy and a warship from the US Navy arrived to participate in the military exercise.

The exercise theme is “Camaraderie Cohesion Collaboration”. One of the primary objectives of MILAN 2024 is to promote collaboration and the sharing of best practices among participating navies.
