The Ministry of Immigration and Population issued a notification to the public.
The State Administration Council issued an announcement that set the date for the People’s Military Service Law to come into force, which is 10 February 2024. The People’s Military Service Law was enacted as Law No 27/2010 of the State Peace and Development Council on 4 November 2010, and the law came into force under Sub-Section (b) of Section 1 of the law above.
Now, regarding the announcement, some are spreading rumors and false information on social media platforms, alleging that foreign departure permits of people are being banned.
Regarding the People’s Military Service Law, the ministry allowed systematic entry/departure from border gates, bordering neighboring countries including Yangon, Mandalay, Nay Pyi Taw international airports as before by the law without issuing instructions and restrictions on immigration, and banning foreign departure permissions of people. Moreover, any instructions on foreign departure permits are not issued, according to the ministry.
