Saw Ner Dah Mya, who has received Thai citizenship and currently holds the position of Commander-in-Chief of the Kaw Thoo Lay Army (KTLA), as well as the self-proclaimed President of Kaw Thoo Lay, is reported to have had his citizenship revoked by Thailand.
According to a statement of the Mae Sot District Governor’s Office, Saw Ner Dah Mya was found to have used the registration of someone, so it was canceled because it was found to have obtained citizenship incorrectly.
Almost all of the ethnic armed leaders have acquired other citizenships, and since Myanmar does not grant dual citizenship, their citizenship will be automatically terminated upon acquiring another citizenship.
