IFAB has announced that it will be testing the Sin-bins system, which allows players to be temporarily sent off after showing a blue card in football matches.The Sin-bins system has been tested in youth competitions and will now be used more widely.
A player shown a blue card by the referee must leave the technical area for 10 minutes. But when will IFAB begin to test and use this system? It has not been said in which competition it will be tested.
The Premier League has decided not to participate in any tests.
IFAB has been testing the sin-bins system since the 2018-19 season, and it has been reported that the system has reduced dismissals by 38 percent in 31 leagues.
