The Central Bank has issued today the directive No. (1/2024) dated February 6 that it will be possible to apply for the right to work as a Banking Agent to provide comprehensive financial services to people who do not have access to banking services.
When applying for a banking agent, it will need the name of the proposed representative, the location, address and phone numbers, and Business activities in the past two years before the application. The agreement (draft) between the bank and the representative to be signed by the above instructions and other applicable laws must be submitted together. The Central Bank will notify the approval in writing within three months from the date of receipt of the completed application.
When banks appoint representatives and apply for permission to conduct banking, it is stated that the approval for all proposed representatives must be applied for in a single application only, and for the representatives who want to be appointed, the approval can be applied once every three months (in March, June, September and December).
