Myanmar, China, and Thailand are negotiating to effectively combat online scams and drug trafficking in terror attacks that occurred in Myanmar through trilateral cooperation, Myanmar Ambassador U Soe Lin Han.
Myanmar Ambassador U Soe Lin Han from the Myanmar Embassy in Brussels participated as a Myanmar representative in the 24th ASEAN-EU Ministerial Meeting on 2 February 2024 in Brussels, Belgium.
The Meeting was attended by the Foreign Ministers from ASEAN and EU Member States, as well as the ASEAN Secretariat and the European Commission, and Timor-Leste as an ASEAN Observer.
Deputy Prime Minister of Laos and Foreign Affairs Minister Mr. Saleumxay Kommasith discussed regional issues. He said that Laos will make a commitment as an ASEAN alternative chairmanship to find out a long-term endurance way based on a Myanmar-led and implemented process.
Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand and Foreign Affairs Minister Mr. Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara said Thailand believes that promoting humanitarian aid will enhance the situation in Myanmar, and Thailand wishes the EU to provide humanitarian assistance to Myanmar for positive relations with Myanmar and the international community.
Myanmar’s ambassador thanked the GSP/ EBA program of the EU, and Myanmar implemented labor rights in the country under the existing law. Myanmar is making an effort to hold free and fair multiparty democracy elections, he added.
