Although the NUG and PDF have called for a silent strike to mark the 3rd anniversary of their retention of power, the people of Mandalay are moving around as usual today, February 1st.
“Today in Mandalay, people are moving around as usual. Around 10:00 a.m., the traffic thinned out a bit, but by 10:30 p.m., people started walking as usual. I can’t participate in any strikes. If I don’t work for a day, who will come and feed me?” said a seller at Zay Cho Market.
