The Buddha Puzaniya Ceremony of the Kyaik Hti Yo Pagoda is held from the full moon day of Thitinkyaut to the full moon day of Kason. Pilgrims from all over the world come to pay their respects every day, and this month of January is the most filled, according to the Pagoda Treasurer’s Board of Trustees.
“There have been more than two hundred and ninety thousand pilgrims from the full moon day of Thitinkyaut to January 26. There are more than six hundred and five hundred foreign pilgrims. Most foreign pilgrims come from Thailand. Most pilgrims came during the whole month of January this year. There are more than one hundred and ten thousand. Every year this month is the time of pilgrimage. Most of them come on weekends,” said U Tin Soe, a member of the Treasury Board of Trustees.

To ensure that the people who come for pilgrimage are safe and can go on pilgrimage peacefully, the trustees and officials of the pagoda are providing security, free accommodation, food and health care. It is reported that 150 mountain climbing vehicles are running daily.
Famous places along Kyaik Hti Yo Mountain, such as Mote So Mountain, Kyee Kan Mouth Cave, Kyaukhtagyi Pagoda, Waterfall, etc., are filled with pilgrims in the food stalls and souvenir shops along the market square.

According to the records of the Treasurer’s Board of Trustees, about 45,000 pilgrims from both domestic and foreign countries visited the Kyaik Hti Yo Pagoda on January 27th and 28th (Saturday and Sunday).
