In the last group match of AFC 2023, the Thai team played a draw against the Saudi team and entered the round of 16. though Saudi dominated the game, it ended in a goalless draw. Saudi Arabia had a penalty saved by the Thai goalkeeper in the first half.
Only Thailand and Indonesia moved into knockouts out of the four ASEAN teams of the 2023 Asian Cup. Indonesia enough to qualify with three points as one of the best third-placed teams, after Oman failed to beat Kyrgyzstan on Thursday. Thailand finished second in Group F and will face Uzbekistan on Tuesday; Indonesia, Australia. Saudi Arabia, who topped the group, will meet South Korea.
