Nai Ngwe Thein, the patron of the Mon Unity Party, died yesterday in the afternoon at Asia Hospital in Yangon. It is reported that Nai Ngwe Thein was 89 years old at the time of his death while undergoing treatment for adult illness.
In April 2010, he formed the Mon Regional Democratic Party and became its chairman. After the merger of the Mon political parties, he served as the patron of the Mon Unity Party until his death.
Nai Htaw Mon, the Honorary Chairman of the New Mon State Party, also passed away last January 17th due to adult disease.
