Guinea defeated Gambia 1-0 in the second match of the Africa Cup of Nations group. This win was Guinea’s first at the 2023 African Cup of Nations. The incidents took place after supporters flocked to the streets of Conakry, the capital of Guinea, to celebrate in cars and on motorbikes. In Conakry, the audience rode motorcycles and celebrated excessively. As a result, 6 fans died. The West African nation of Guinea is a fanatical supporter of football, it is reported.
