In December 2023, more than 64,000 pilgrims from all over the region came to pay their respects to Kyaiktiyo Pagoda in Kyaikhto Township, Mon State, according to the Kyaiktiyo Pagoda Board of Trustees.
In 2023 December, there were 64,105 pilgrims from all over the country, and 1,284 foreign tourists, totaling 65,389 people.

“The number of pilgrims visiting during December can be said to be the highest in a year. From January to December 2023, 284,079 domestic pilgrims, 10,214 foreign tourists, and a total of 294,293 pilgrims from all over the world visited,” said U Soe Hla, a trustee of Kyaiktiyo Pagoda.
At the moment, about 250 trucks are running to Kyaiktiyo Mountain every day. Hotels and inns, Free inns, and restaurants are fully open.
