Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and ASEAN Chair’s Special Envoy on Myanmar HE Mr. Alounkeo Kittikhoun discussed actions taken by Myanmar on the ASEAN’s 5-Point Consensus through being in balance with the roadmap laid down and being implemented by the State Administration Council.
Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received ASEAN Chair’s Special Envoy on Myanmar HE Mr. Alounkeo Kittikhoun at the Credentials Hall of SAC Chairman’s Office in Nay Pyi Taw this morning.
At the meeting, they cordially discussed good friendship and cooperation between Laos and Myanmar, responsibilities of the State taken by the State Administration Council due to the occurrence of vote fraud in the 2020 multi-party democratic general election, act of armed violence without finding a political solution to political disagreements, efforts being made by the Government for ensuring peace and stability of the State and national reconciliation, the Tatmadaw’s strong stand on ensuring the path of multi-party democracy that the people want, measures being taken by the State Administration Council for peace and stability and development of the State by laying down the Five-Point Roadmap, tasks being carried out by laying down the political objectives and national objectives.
Moreover, they also discussed Myanmar’s fully cooperation in humanitarian aid matters, tasks to be implemented as a priority when serving as the alternate chair of ASEAN in 2024, and actions taken by Myanmar on the ASEAN’s 5-Point Consensus through being in balance with the roadmap laid down and being implemented by the State Administration Council.
Also present at the meeting with the SAC Chairman and Prime Minister were Joint Secretary of SAC Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and officials and with the ASEAN Chair’s Special Envoy the Ambassador of Lao PDR to Myanmar and officials.
The special envoy also met SAC member and Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and seven NCA-signatory EAOs.
