Priority will be given to public transportation sector in distribution of Russian fuel oil and the arrival date is still unknown due to delays, Deputy Minister for Information Maj Gen Zaw Min Tun said on 20 September.
“Priority will be given to public transportation sector in distribution of Russian fuel oil and deliveries will be received in a few days, but the arrival date is still unknown,” he said.
The local fuel oil prices dropped back after the Senior General gave comment that we will receive the first shipment of fuel oil from Russia in a few days.
“Deliveries of petroleum products from Russia to Myanmar are already underway successfully and we will receive the first shipment of fuel oil from Russia in a few days. We continue to buy them and we are ready to pay for supplies in Russian roubles. Whatever currency the Russian side accepts, that is what we will pay,” Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said during the exclusive interview with a special reporter of RIA, Rossiya Segodnya, Russian Federation on 14 September. After being published the Senior General’s comment through state-owned daily newspapers, the daily local fuel oil prices declined.
The price of 92 Ron dropped to Ks-2420 per litre on 15 September, Ks-2365 on 16 September, Ks-2180 on 17 September from Ks-2485 on 14 September, according to the reference retail prices issued by the Fuel Oil Import, Storage and Distribution Supervisory Committee. Similarly, the price of 95 Ron fell down to Ks-2515 per litre on 15 September, Ks-2455 on 16 September, Ks-2270 on 17 September from Ks-2575 per litre.
The disel fuel price that surged to Ks-3065 per litre on 14 September, declined to Ks-2830 on 15 September, Ks-2615 on 16 September, Ks-2580 on 17 September. Likewise, the price of premium disel dropped to Ks-2915 per litre on 15 September, Ks-2700 on 16 September, Ks-2665 on 17 September from Ks- 3150 on 14 September.
On 20 September, the price of 92 Ron dropped to Ks- 2170 per litre, 95 Ron to Ks-2260, disel to Ks-2585 and premium disel to Ks-2670 respectively, according to the reference retail prices issued by the Fuel Oil Import, Storage and Distribution Supervisory Committee.
