The Ministry of Health has announced that there were 48 new laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 within the week of last year (December 31st to January 7th of this month).
The percentage of infection found is 0.33 percent. The statement described that there were no deaths from COVID-19 during the reporting period.
During the week from December 24th to December 31st of last year, the total of 13,371 laboratory samples were tested and 26 new laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 were found.
When the outbreak of COVID-19 in Myanmar from March 23, 2020 to January 7, 2024 until 8 p.m., 641,496 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Myanmar; 620,159 patients recovered from infection and 19,494 patients died from infection, according to the statement of Ministry of Health of SAC.
International news reports that infection rates are rising due to new varieties of the coronavirus in neighboring countries.
