Myanmar Tatmadaw didn’t attack Laiza headquarters of KIA/KIO and it is described the explosion in Mon Lai Khet refugee camp in Laiza may be due to the drone bombs stored by KIA armed group according to the Maj.Gen Zaw Min Tun, spokesperson of the State Administration Council on October 10th. He also said that the true events of the explosion are under investigation.
“We continue the investigation now. We always try to keep peaceful situation in border areas and I would like to say how it’s right that Tatmadaw make bombing or shooting with heavy weapons at the time of midnight, please consider. I have also said that Tatmadaw either can shoot or attack the headquarters of any armed groups, but we haven’t. For this explosion, there have been many rumors also said by this organization liked as due to air strikes or shooting with heavy weapons made by Tatmadaw. But all are uncertain. Here, I can say one thing exactly that the place of the explosion is the place where KIA dropped UAV bombs against Tatmadaw columns and camps. So we are now investigating the cause of explosion. In the past, an explosion of KIA’s weapons and ammunition storehouse was also happened, but KIA hided this news. Therefore, we conclude the explosion may happen at a place of the storage of KIA’s UAV bombs.”, Maj.Gen Zaw Min Tun said.
There were some rumors saying by anti-government medias saying that Tatmadaw started shooting with heavy weapons at 11 pm on October 9th against the Mong Lai Khet camp where local citizen people fleeing the battles between Tatmadaw and KIA forces. The rumors said the shooting by Tatmadaw hit the camp at 1 am on October 10th and 32 people including 13 children and women.
After the rumors, Maj.Gen Zaw Min Tun, spokesperson of the State Administration Council denied the claims of KIA when media asked him about the events. The Nhkun Naw Seng account at the Social Network also expressed in Kachin language that “Ngai tsun da ai le.Anhte hpyen yen nta ni makau de sa wa nna hpyen sharin jawng hpaw nga ai gaw aten mi hta anhte mare masha ni ruyet jam jau hkrum sha wa na hpe ngai tsun da ai le.Shanhte makoi da ai Yam(Wan Yam) ni nga ai shara de ma ni sa n-ginsup na matu tsun da ai le.Ya na zawn Yam ni kapaw ai hpe kadai wa lit la ya na le.Yu le hpun ni,modaw ni yawng lawm mat sai.Hpa mung nnga ai.Bungli galaw na matu nnga mat sai.Wan hkru ai majaw yawng masai.Bawlung pa nhkun a matu onBat-Ho modaw ni mung hten mat sai.Yam ni hpe anhte shara makau na makoi da ai majaw yawng masai.mana yawng si mat sai.”
This means “ Kio/KIA opened military trainings near Mong Lai Khet camp and weapons and ammunition from this training were stored so children are prevented not to play near this storage and also called for not to make military trainings near the camp. The post also asked who will take responsible for the explosion and storage of ammunition near the camp also destroyed trees, cars and heavy machines to use for building a football ground, then killed the people fleeing from the battles” on the social network.
In-charge of the Information of Kio/KIA, Colonel Naw Bu said the RFA that this explosion was a attack by drones , but attacks by UAB dropping bombs are mainly used by PDF and EAOs and on the previous September 3rd, Federal Wing PDF attacked the office of General Administration Department by dropping bombs from UAV. In this attack, the building was heavily destroyed and killed five public servants including U Soe Tint, district administrator of the Myawady General Administration Department and Nay Lin Soe, deputy police inspector of traffic police. NUG rewarded Kyat 100 lakhs to Federal Wing PDF for this terrorist attack.
