The Working Group convened its conference on the review process of Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons in Vienna, Austria from 24 to 28 July, and a delegation led by Myanmar Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations and other International Organizations U Min Thein together with delegates from member states was attended.
The member states decided to establish the Working Group on further strengthening the review process of the Treaty, transparency and accountability, proposal of suggestions for cooperation and sustainable working at the 10th Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons held in New York in 2022.
The first meeting of the 11th Review Conference of the Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons for 2026 will convene in Vienna from 31 July to 11 August, 2023, the second meeting in Geneva in 2024 and the third meeting in New York in 2025.
The Working Group will discuss and negotiate to submit the suggestions to committee meetings. Suggestion drafts were proposed at the first meeting of the Working Group but any confirmation was made.
