Exchange counters for tattered banknotes have been set up in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay to offer better and cleaner ones to public, Central Bank of Myanmar released a statement on 14 July.
The CBM sets up exchange counters in big cities to offer better and cleaner banknotes to public and to alleviate the tattered ones which are in hand of people, the statement said.
CBM launched a plan to exchange the banknotes starting from 2009, aiming to alleviate the tattered banknotes which are in hand of public, it stated.
The CBM relieved the rules and regulation of banknote exchange year by year with the aim of eliminating the tattered banknotes which are in hand of people.
Moreover, CBM has often instructed concerned officials to exchange the tattered banknotes with cleaner ones for public in accord with the regulations.
