Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by his members, the Chief Minister of Rakhine State, the commander of Western Command and officials, this afternoon, met with departmental personnel and town elders in Yathedaung and Bithudaung townships of Rakhine State and officers, other ranks and families of stations separately and fulfilled the requirements.
In meeting with officers, other ranks and families of Rathedaung and Buthidaung stations, the Senior General said that the Rathedaung station was located on the path of the storm, so it suffered a lot from the storm and there were many damages.
Arrangements are being made for reconstruction tasks depending on damages and it needs to arrange everything that can be prepared according to respective families and it will prioritize on accommodating safely as it is monsoon season.
Preparations could be made when the cyclone Mocha occurred in Rakhine State, it could overcome the incident with the least casualties. Tatmadaw could carry out rescue and rehabilitation tasks the best for storm-ravaged areas with having strength and well-wishers donated cash generously for the cyclone affected areas.
When the natural disaster struck, there were also damages in the respective military battalions and renovation works are being undertaken. When the natural disaster hit, the regional interests could be carried out by cooperating the government and Tatmadaw. He pointed out that if the Tatmadaw and the people work together in unity, the entire nation will develop starting from each region.
Later, the Senior General presented foodstuff for regiments and units from respective stations and the wife of SAC Chairman Prime Minister also presented cash for Station Maternal and Child Welfare Associations to officials.
After the meeting, the Senior General and party cordially greeted officers, other ranks and their families and viewed around the stations in a motorcade. Afterwards, the SAC Chairman Prime Minister held meeting with departmental staffs and town elders who are serving in Rathedaung and Buthidaung at the halls of the township General Administrative Department separately.
On the occasion, official and town elders reported on losses and damages by cyclone Mocha in Rathedaung township, rescue and rehabilitation tasks, providing aid, plan to construct cyclone shelters, requirements, plan for renovation of religious buildings, beautifying task along the route linking Maungtaw-Buthidaung, the need of Obstetricians at the Buthidaung township hospital and drinking water storage tank.
In response to the reports, the Prime Minister said that regarding the needs of provisions reported by respective townships, it will fulfilled the requirements in priority by calculating systematically.
It will manage to meet the needs of health staffs according to the township as soon as possible. Rathedaung township was on the path of the storm, so there was a lot of damages.Because of preparations in advance, only 37 people died. The rehabilitation must be carried out according to the townships as natural disasters can enter at any time.
He stressed in doing the tasks just for short-term plan but to focus on long-term durability. He also called on striving for systematic agriculture and breeding tasks, increasing individual income, improving socio-economic life of the people, emphasis on regional peace and stability and human resources development to promote education sector in for regional development.
After the meeting, the Prime Minister presented relief supplies for departmental staffs and town elders in the respective townships to officials and town elders. And then, the Prime Minister and members cordially greeted the attendees.
