Myanmar National U-19 women’s football team beat the Philippines team with a victory by 2-1 in the opening match of Group (C) of the 2023 ASEAN U-19 Women’s football tournament.
In the Myanmar U-19 women team, Phee Bay played as goal keeper, May Thet Mon Myint, Khin Htay Kyaing and Kyel Sin as defenders, Phyu Phyu Win, Wai Phoo Eain, Wai Hinn Phyo and Yoon Waddy Hlaing as mildfielder, and Yin Lon Eain and Zin Moe Pyae as fordward. Substitute players are Hay Mhan Soe, Shoon Lae Naing, Theingi Htway and Thae Mon Thaung.
Myanmar women team appeared dominant over the Philippines and the Philippines defenders and goal keeper defended back.
The Philippines made the leading goal in the 40th minute of first round.
Myanmar team beat the Philippines team with the goals created by Zin Moe Pyae in the 59th minute and Yin Lon Eain in the 75th minute.
At the press conference after the match, Myanmar U-19 Women’s Football Team head coach Daw Thet Thet Win said that Philippines played with all of their power as it is their final match. Myanmar team got many opportunities in the first round but was not be able to score goals. So, there were little goal scores. We will seriously try to get the good results in the coming match with Thailand. Thailand team is a firm one and they have already seen our playing techniques. We will seriously prepare the training programs.
May Thet Mon Myint, a defender, said: “We, all players, tried to play as our coaches’ instructions and we will try our best in the match with Thailand.”
Myanmar team will continue to compete with Thailand at 7 pm MTS on 10 July.
