The Maravijaya Buddha Image, which will become the tallest stone Buddha Statue in the seated posture in the world, is relentlessly being built by members of the Myanmar Engineering Society and Military Engineers’ Corps day and night. It has been 1,111 days or three years and 16 days long since the ceremony to drive in state for construction of the Buddha Image was held on June 14, 2020. The Buddha Image is being built with the four objectives: to show that Theravada Buddhism is firmly shined in Myanmar; to ensure that Myanmar is the hub of worshipping the Theravada Buddhism; to ensure prosperity of the nation; and to ensure peace and prosperity in the world. Along with the Buddha Image, religious buildings are being built in the Buddha Park in accordance with the counsel of State Ovadacariya Sayadaws.
It has been 1,111 days or three years and 16 days long in building the Buddha Image. The sights of the Buddha Image and religious buildings in the Buddha Park seen today have been published in order that all the Sanghas and people across the country will pay respects and be generous. Efforts are also being made continuously to ensure 100 percent completion in construction of the Buddha Image.
