A grand-scale ceremony for the Diamond Jubilee of Independence Day, which falls on 4 January 2023, will be held, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko said during a meeting with the chairman of the Myanmar Theatrical Association (Central) and members.
The union minister said that a leading committee on organizing a variety show performed by movie, music and theatrical artistes to mark the Diamond Jubilee Independence Day, 2023 had been formed and purpose of the meeting was to discuss the details with the Myanmar Theatrical Association.
“After drafting the entertainment program, an audition will be held at the open-air theatre of the Nay Pyi Taw City Development Committee, in which the variety show will be organized, to preapre the required lighting, sound systems, setting and background, which will be provided by the ministry,” he added.
The chairman of the MTA(Central) and members took part in the discussions.
In his concluding remarks, the union minister urged all to participate in the ceremony to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Independence Day successfully and said qualified artistes who deserve honorary titles would be nominated to the government while pointed out the needs to document the history of songs of medium of spirits and royal damsons with the help of elderly artists.
