Seven PDF members who returned to the legal fold were handed over to their parents by the government in Yangon on 5 June.
A total of 62 persons have already entered the legal fold in Yangon Region until June 5.
The ceremony of entrusting PDF members, who completed trainings and returned to legal fold without committing any crime, to their parents was held at the Mingala Hall of Yangon Region Government Office on 5 June.
“The organizations or groups including PDFs are welcomed if they want to enter legal fold for their normal civilian lives by surrendering their weapons following rules and regulations to participate in future work plans of the State,” Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein said.
“55 PDF members who completed trainings and returned to the legal fold without committing any crime were systematically handed over to their parents in Yangon Region, and now seven PDFs who entered legal fold will be entrusted to their parents. Up to 5 June, a total of 62 persons have already entrusted to the parents,” the chief minister said.
Afterward, Commander of Yangon Command Maj-Gen Zaw Hein spoke educational talks and handed over them to their parents.
