The handover ceremony of the relief items from Thailand for the victims from the areas affected by Cyclone Mocha in Myanmar was held at Botahtaung jetty in Botahtaung Township on 3 June.
The relief items were provided by Red Cross Society, World Trade Organization, PTT, companies and universities from Thailand including governmental and private organizations from Thailand.
Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar H.E.Mr. Mongkol Visitstump said on the donation of relief supplies and Visitstump said on the donation of relief supplies and Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein spoke words of thanks.
Afterward, the Thai ambassador handed over 48 fried fish packages, 16 boiled egg packages, 34 packages of canned tuna fish, 100 packages of fermented mustard green, four candle packages, two torch light packages, 167 rice packages, 1,530 dried noodle packages, 20 Millet snack packages, 50 jelly packages, six puffed rice stick packages, 15 purified water packages, 10 tea bag packages and 10,000 canned fish packages to the Yangon Region chief minister.
The arrangements are underway to distribute these relief items to cyclone affected victims in Rakhine State as quickly as possible without lacking any individuals.
For the cyclone affected victims in Rakhine State, donations have been continuously made by neighboring countries, private and governmental organizations.
