Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min AungHlaing met MSME entrepreneurs from Pa-O Self-Administered Zone in Hopong this afternoon and discussed regional and economic development.
The Senior General said the country is now practicing multiparty democracy economic system. Farming-based production industry, the main business of the country, must be promoted for national economic growth. The industry must be encouraged as 72% of country’s population is rural people.
Production of highly demanded goods will generate income. Goals have been set for success of agriculture and breeding industry. Production growth increase demand and supply. Low production capacity is the cause of our country’s sluggish economy.
Agricultural products exist in Pa-O region for production of animal feeds. Hence, local farmers can improve livestock farms by manufacturing foodstuffs in the region. The root cause of high prices of agricultural goods depends on unbalance of supply and demand and production charge. The Senior General urged all to successfully undertake livestock farms in Pa-O region while distributing products at reduced prices. Officials have to arrange production of necessary raw materials in Pa-O region.
The government is encouraging production of the neem pest included in the inputs. The government disburses loans as capitals to the manufacturing industries under the relevant financial rules and regulations.
Priority is being given to manageable scale industries. In operating industries, their products must be cheaper than similar products and the products at same prices must have higher quality.
Encouraging the MSME businesses aim to increase production, substitute import goods and export products to foreign countries. If products are manufactured at home to meet the target, import volume can be reduced.
The government will fulfill requirements of agricultural tasks in Pa-O region. Pa-O region possesses vast cultivable lands. In order to successfully operate agricultural tasks, it is necessary to conduct research on agricultural tasks for ensuring high per-acre yield, the Senior General said.
