Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the Central Command commander and officials, inspected the maintenance of Mya Nan San Kyaw Golden Palace in Mandalay this afternoon.
First, the Senior General and party viewed the whole Golden Palace including the Glass Palace, Baungdaw Hall, conference halls, glass hall and central palace hall. Union Minister U Ko Ko, Assistant Director Daw Myo Myo Thaung of the Mandalay branch of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum and officials reported on the maintenance of the whole Golden Palace.
In response to the reports, the Senior General said that unlike other palaces, Mya Nan San Kyaw Golden Palace is the one complete with real documentaries on its structure and location. Having such local and international documentaries and evidence, the maintenance tasks should be carried out based on them. It is necessary to review those documents so that replicas of ancient utensils in the halls and buildings in the palace can be made. Glass mosaic patterns on the posts must be re-made in a neat and tidy manner. Some utensils including the throne need to be surrounded by glass. The roads connecting each other’s buildings and halls must be rebuilt in their original style. Special care is necessary for its maintenance because the palace is full of ancient architectural works. Maintenance of the palace until it becomes neat and tidy will attract more visitors, the Senior General said.
Later, the Senior General and party viewed the documentary photos on Mya Nan San Kyaw Golden Palace and displays of utensils in the palace, and left necessary instructions.
