The Shewdagon Pagoda Board of Trustees will celebrate the ceremony of Maha Samaya Day on the full moon day of Nayoun on 2 June at the platform of the pagoda.
On that significant day, the congregation will offer alms, flowers, water and oil-lamps to the Shwedagon pagoda at 5 am, offer alms and offertories to Ovada Sayadaws, listen to the religious sermons relating to Maha Samaya Day and will share merits gained.
The religious associations and staff from the pagoda will pay obeisance to the Shewdagon Pagoda clockwise and will recite Maha Samaya sutta at the Chanthagyi prayer hall.
Moreover, in hounour of peace, they will ring the bells on the platform of the pagoda at the same time.
