1,335 of the applicants who passed the matriculation examination in 2022 for universities of Medicine and universities of Dental Medicine will have to enter admission interview, according to the Ministry of Health.
The students who sat the matriculation exam this year had two-year study time due to the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic and faced social punishment after SAC took State responsibility in February, 2021. But there were many applicants who applied for UM and UDM and among them, 1,335 applicants have the opportunity to enter admission interview.
These students who get a total of 450 marks of all six subjects with the high scores in English, Chemistry and Biology subjects which are related to medical studies have the chance to enter the admission exam, said director of the Department of Human Resources for Health Dr. Chaw Su Maung (Human Resources) and director of the Ministry of Health Dr. Than Naing Soe (secretariat office).
Dr Chaw Su Maung and Dr Than Soe Naing said:“In the 2022, government scholarship program will be available for the applicants who can join UM and UDM. Under the government scholarship program, they will only pay Ks-800 per month in these universities. The government will fund Ks-60 million and Ks-70 million for UM and UDM respectively. But they have to serve as civil servants at least five years after they graduated”.
