Regarding the installation of new embossed number plates on vehicles in nationwide, the educational period to change and install the new plates rapidly on the remaining vehicles that are still unchanged will be extended till April this year, according to the Road Transport Administration Department.
The new embossed number plates are upgraded with good security system, symbol numbers representing the townships and description of the car brand and model and they can prevent the use of number plates on other illegal vehicles.
All vehicles from YRTC public bus lines has already been installed with the new embossed number plates and 82.66 percent of YBS buses have been installed, YRTC/YBS joint secretary U Lyan Cin Mang said.
“The installation of new embossed number plates on 58.81 percent of highway bus lines, 69.46 percent of trucks and 86.43 percent of taxies has been finished. The bus lines are making effort to extend vehicle licences that are expired and to install the new plates as soon as possible,” he added.
The operation of YBS buses that fail to install the new plates will be closed. We can exactly know the real number of vehicles that are running in the ground and will control them with telematic system to be disciplined, he continued.
Necessary action will be taken against the vehicles that fail to install new embossed number plates if the educational period is expired, Road Transport Administration Department issued in 1 April.
So, vehicle owners who still unchanged their number plants have to apply for new embossed number plates at RTAD offices.
