Myanmar received over US$-3 billion than expected trade income amount from the foreign trade this financial year, according to the statistic of the Ministry of Commerce.
The country expected to earn a total of US$ -29.5 billion including US$-15.5 billion from the export sector and US$-14 billion from the import sector.
At present, Myanmar earned US$-15.95 billion from the export sector and US$-16.70 billion from the import sector, totaling US$-32.65 billion from 1 April to 17 March, 2023, an increase of US$-3.15 billion.
Although the trade income is expected to obtain almost US$-30 billion this year, US$-32.65 billion is earned till 17 March.
The country’s export sector relies more on the finished industrial goods and agricultural sectors and it mainly imports raw industrial materials and capital goods, according to the trading statistic.
