The construction of the China-aided Kunlong Bridge being built in Myanmar will be completed this year, according to the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar.
The China-aided new Kunlong Bridge located in northern Shan State of Myanmar and it is the river-crossing bridge over Thalwin River along Hsenwi-Kunlong-Chinshwehaw road that is a main route of China-Myanmar trading.
The old suspension bridge was constructed in 1964 by Chinese engineers and now has a weight restriction of up to only 25 tonnes for ageing. Therefore, both governments decided to construct the new bridge in 2018.
The new 286-metre-long Kunlong bridge construction launched in December, 2020 and will be implemented this year. Currently, the construction reached to the important phase that linked both edges of main bridge.
The economic attaché of Chinese Embassy in Myanmar went to northern Shan State of Myanmar from 7 to 9 March and look around the Kunlong Bridge project. Moreover, he observed China-Myanmar border trade, cow export to China and public benefit tasks cooperation.
