The seaborne trade is the largest in the 2022-2023 fiscal year, according to the data of the Ministry of Commerce.
Myanmar earned US$-23.14 billion from the inter-trading to abroad via maritime route in ten months this FY, an increase of US$-3.37 billion compared to the same period of last year, according to the data.
According to the statistic released by the MoC, Myanmar received US$-9.62 billion from the export through maritime route in ten months from April 2022 to 24 February 2023, increasing 7.8 percent compared to the same period of previous year.
Similarly, US$-13.52 billion was earned from the import via seaborne trade, increasing 26 percent compared to the same period. Myanmar’s seaborne trade surged 33.8 percent within 10 months this FY.
Myanmar earned US$-30.79 billion from the inter-trading with foreign countries through maritime route and border trade route in 10 months of the 2022-2023 FY. Border trade was earned US$-7.64 billion.
