Myanmar earned over US$-15.42 million from the Myanmar-India border trade from 1 April to March of 2022-2023 fiscal year, according to the data of the Ministry of Commerce.
More than US$-9.35 million was earned from the export to India through Tamu border trade gate and over US$-6.07 million from the import. The Rih border trade gate still closed cross-border trade this FY, according to the data.
Myanmar-India border trade gates were closed due to COVID-19 as of March 2020 and some gates resumed their trading as normal.
The major export items are betel, plum, peanut, onion, nantpharlon grocery and assorted cigarette and the import items are fertilizer and hair.
