Taninthayi Region Government and Southern Coastline Group Co.,Ltd. signed a B.O.O contract on generating, distribution and selling of electricity with solar technology.
Both sides singed a build-own-operate (B.O.O) contract to generate, distribute and sold the electricity with the use of solar technology in Kawthaung Township on 8 March.
Taninthayi Region Chief Minister U Myat Ko said: “There are a lot of electricity requirement in Taninthayi Region and the region needs more investors. As efforts have been made to achieve electricity in the region since 2010-2015, gas turbine project in Dawei District has been reached to some extent.”
If national grid power line has been installed in the region, priority will be given to Dawei and Myeik, he added.
Measures are being made to distribute electricity into Myeik and Kawthaung through Dawei and region government will give necessary aids. Electricity will be distributed in Taninthayi Region to some extent, he continued.
