Opening ceremony of first ever Nuclear Technology Information Centre of Republic of Union of Myanmar was held at the centre in Hline Township, Yangon this morning.
The centre will disseminate knowledge of nuclear technology to improve public understanding and awareness of nuclear energy according to the program. The centre will give much support for human resources development as students of the basic education schools as well as institutions of higher learning can study knowledge of nuclear energy there. It will also provide people of Myanmar with the opportunity to learn nuclear technology and to have a positive view on nuclear energy. Broader corporation in the multiple fields of nuclear energy will continue, said Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
Both side experts will hold meetings on establishment of nuclear infrastructures of the nation to apply nuclear and radiation technologies in health, agriculture, livestock, industrial and environmental conservation, and both sides will assess necessary safety of nuclear danger, security and response in emergency period and cooperate in these sectors in line with the 19 points of IAEA. To do so, high ranking officials from relevant ministries recently held the meeting to implement the national level nuclear infrastructure development project, the Senior General said.
Present at the ceremony together with the Senior General were SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, SAC member Admiral Tin Aung San, Union ministers, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, senior military officers from Office of Commander-in-Chief, Yangon Command Commander Maj-Gen Nyunt Win Swe, Director General Mr. Alexey Evgenievich Likhachevof ROSATOM State Corporations of Russian Federation and members, Russian Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Nikolay LISTOPADOV and members, students and distinguished guests.
