While the ceremony to open archway in commemoration of 71st Kayah State Day were holding in front of the state hall in Loikaw, Kayah State this morning, KNPP and PDF groups fired heavy weapons at the place. Due to their attacks, a civilian was died and local people and students were injured.
At around 7.15 am, KNPP and PDF opened fire heavy weapons from about 4,000 meter northeast of Loikaw and the rounds exploded near the state hall and at residential places.
Due to explosion of the rounds of heavy weapon, some security forces, six students, a man and a woman were injured and a male civilian was died.
The injured persons were transported to People’s Hospital in Loikaw for medical treatment. The terrorist acts committed by terrorists with the aim of killing people in crowed places which are not related to military were condemned by people.
