To commemorate the 75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, which will fall on the 4th of January 2023, the government will sell new one-tical gold coins and half-tical gold coins starting on the 5th January, the Central Bank of Myanmar announced.
The new one-tical gold coins and half-tical gold coins will be available at the sale shops of Myanmar Gems Enterprise in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon and Mandalay.
The new one-tical gold coin has a diameter of 26.0 millimetres (mm) and a thickness of 2.0 mm. The centre of the face of the newly-designed gold coin is an image of white elephant and the words “75th Anniversary” written at the right of the image. At the bottom of the white elephant, “one tical 2023”, and along the circumference of the gold coin, “Central Bank of Myanmar” and “75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day” is etched respectively. The opposite face of the coin also has image of the white elephant while “75th” at the right of the image, “16.329 gm.2023” at the bottom, and “Central Bank of Myanmar”,“75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day” along the circumference are etched in the English language.
The newly-designed half-tical gold coin has a diameter of 22.0 millimetres (mm) and a thickness of 1.5 mm. At the centre of the face of the newly-designed gold coin is an image of white elephant with the words “75th Anniversary” written at the right of the image. At the bottom of the white elephant, “half-tical 2023”, and along the circumference of the gold coin, “Central Bank of Myanmar” and “75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day” is etched respectively. The opposite face of the coin also has image of the white elephant while “75th” at the right of the image, “8.164 gm.2023” at the bottom, and “Central Bank of Myanmar”,“75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day” along the circumference are etched in the English language.
Gold coin purchasers will also receive certificate of authenticity issued by the Central Bank of Myanmar and the Gold Casting Department.
