MSME businesses grasp 99 percent of positions in the production of State economy, taking an important role in the GDP of the country, Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Vice-Senior General Soe Win said.
The Vice-Senior General made the comment at the meeting of Yangon Region cabinet members and district/township officials in connection with MSMEs of the region held at Yangon Region Government Office on the morning of 28 December.
First, the region chief minister and officials explained progress in implementing industrial zones in the region.
In response to the reports, the Vice-Senior General explained issuance of loans from the State Economic Promotion Fund as much as possible for manufacturing, trading, inputs and human resources which are basic of MSME businesses.
Then, the Vice-Senior General said plans of seven ministries to conduct 198 kinds of short- and long-term courses for human resources development as a learning chance for those who have passed the middle school education and under, opening of THS, Institute of Agriculture, Institute of Livestock and GTI for those who have passed the matriculation examination.
Measures will be made to prioritize products to ensure import substitute and increase export volume under the policy for manufacturing the finished products with the use of domestic raw materials, he added.
