To commemorate the 75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar which falls on 4 January, 2022, the government will issue one tical and half- tical gold coins with new design.
The newly-designed one tical quality gold coin has a diameter of 26.0 millimetres (mm) and a thickness of 2.0 mm. At the centre of the face of the newly-designed gold coin is an image of white elephant with the words “75th Anniversary” written at the right of the image. At the bottom of the white elephant, “one tical 2023”, and along the circumference of the gold coin, “Central Bank of Myanmar” and “75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day” is etched respectively. The opposite face of the coin also has image of the white elephant while “75th” at the right of the image, “16.329 gm.2023” at the bottom, and “Central Bank of Myanmar”,“75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day” along the circumference are etched in the English language.
The newly-designed half-tical gold coin has a diameter of 22.0 millimetres (mm) and a thickness of 1.5 mm. At the centre of the face of the newly-designed gold coin is an image of white elephant with the words “75th Anniversary” written at the right of the image. At the bottom of the white elephant, “half-tical 2023”, and along the circumference of the gold coin, “Central Bank of Myanmar” and “75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day” is etched respectively. The opposite face of the coin also has image of the white elephant while “75th” at the right of the image, “8.164 gm.2023” at the bottom, and “Central Bank of Myanmar”,“75th Diamond Jubilee Independence Day” along the circumference are etched in the English language.
