It is reported that twelve Bengalis who trafficked Bengalis for money from refugee camp in Bangladesh to Malaysia were arrested, State Administration Council released a statement.
According to the information, the security forces found six male Bengalis and six female Bengalis near the orchid farm entrance to Barlar Village, Shwe Nantta Village of Htauk Kyant in Mingaladon Township on 8 December.
According to the investigation, Thant Zin Oo (a) Thurein, who arranged the trafficking, Myat Soe Oo (a) Pyaung Gyi, Htet Kyaw, Aung Thu, Myint Sein, Zaw Zaw Latt (a) Rakhine Lay, Kyaw Kyaw (a) Kyaw Gyi and Min Min Htike, who are drivers, Aye Khaing (a) Ko Aung, Aung Aung, Zaw Aung (a) Maung Zaw and Zaw Win (a) Ali Bai, who received the smuggled Bengalis were arrested.
In additions, 19 smuggled male Bengalis and six vehicles were seized at house of Zaw Win (a) Ali Bai on 9 and 16 December.
They testified that they had agreed to take Bengalis who entered via Sittway and temporary receive them for Ks-700,000 per head in Yangon Region. They transported them to Malaysia for five times and there are 255 smuggled Bengalis they transported.
Moreover, it is exposed that they also abandoned 13 dead bodies of Bengalis that found on Tabin Shwe Htee road near Barlar Village in Hlegu Township.
The security forces is conducting to take effective action against the smuggled Bengalis and traffickers in accordance with the law and investigating to arrest those who involved in the crime.
