A commemoration ceremony for 75th anniversary Diamond Jubilee of founding the Air Force was held at Aviation Training School in Meikhtila Station on Thursday.
Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended ceremony which is held in conjunction with the commissioning of aircrafts and helicopters.
The ceremony commenced with the flying demonstration of 15 aircrafts which are manufactured by the Air Force. In his speech, the Senior General said the Air Force has been serving the state’s duties in successive eras till the Diamond Jubilee period. He urged to relay the good traditions of Air Force to the new generations, and continue to participate in nation building endeavours and national defence duty.
Commander-in-Chief (Air) Gen. Tun Aung expressed words of thanks before the announcement of the commissioning the aircrafts. The miniature aircrafts were also presented to the Senior General. It was followed by the flying demonstration of aircrafts and helicopters. In honour of the Diamond Jubilee of Air Force 75 birds were released, and sprinkled the scented water to the newly aircrafts.
The Senior General also presented honorary cash to the pilots who took part in the demonstration. On the 14th, the Senior General and party visited regional products show which is held in commemoration of the diamond jubilee of Air Force.
They observed the displays of air force history, documentary photos, uniforms of successive eras and aircrafts miniatures and related items. They also viewed the souvenirs shops, traditional food stalls, book stalls and consumer goods shops.
