At Shwedagon Pagoda celebrated Myanmar New Year 1387 and safe Release fishes Ceremony was held at various designated locations at the Shwedagon Pagoda on the 1st of the Myanmar New Year this morning.
At 7:00 am, the safe Release fishes Ceremony was held at the Shin Upagupta Mingalar Lake north of the Shwedagon Pagoda. The ceremony was attended by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and his wife, members of the Treasurer’s Office, regional government ministers and their wives, Buddhist religious associations, and staff.
Today, on the occasion of the first day of the Myanmar New Year, many pilgrims have been visiting the Shwedagon Pagoda since morning, and the four archway and parking lot are also crowded with people offering offerings of food and water.
