Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administrative Council (SAC), today handed over K50 billion to Sagaing Region and K60 billion to Mandalay Region to officials for recovery efforts following the Mandalay earthquake.
The Mandalay earthquake that struck Myanmar on March 28 has claimed 3,726 lives, injured 5,105 people and left 129 missing as of 7 a.m. on April 18, 2025, according to the National Disaster Management Committee.
The state has allocated 500 billion kyats to rebuild the areas damaged by the earthquake, while businesses and the public have contributed around 120 billion kyats. In addition, more than 3,500 tons of relief aid has arrived from 26 countries and regions, but much help is still needed.
