China International Search and Rescue Team continue to provide medical assistance to earthquake-affected people in Mandalay Region, including medical check-ups, consultations, drug guidance, and medicine distribution.
Medical staff from the team used China-made diagnostic equipment such as hand-held ultrasound machines, portable X-ray machines, and ECG monitors to provide free health check-ups to more than 250 residents at a relief camp near Mandalay University of Medicine. They also distributed essential medicines, including antibiotics, painkillers and blood pressure medications, Xinhua News Agency reported.
Near the Mandalay Palace, the medical team has been providing tailored solutions, health education, and drug guidance to local respiratory, digestive, and immune diseases due to extreme heat and chronic disease management.
The Chinese team includes more than 10 experts in 14 fields, such as internal medicine, surgery, and paediatrics.
Recently, the Chinese Red Cross Society has built temporary tents for earthquake victims at the Mahaaungmye Stadium between 38th, 88th, and 89th streets in Sein Pan ward.
